Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Are your products vegan?
A. Yes, some but not all of our products are 100% Vegan (that means absolutely NO animal by-products such as Beeswax, Carmine, etc.)
Our vegan products include:
Q. What products are NOT vegan, and why?
A. Unfortunately our Lip Glosses, Lip Paints, “Perfect As Is” Lip Balm, and our nail paint “Paint Me Stunning” are NOT VEGAN due to our use of Carmine as a colorant. Carmine is a red dye made from crushed insect scales and is the only red color alternative to FD&C coloring, so we feel it is the better alternative.
Q. Are you products Wheat/Gluten free?
A. Yes, our products are gluten and wheat-free because the Vitamin E we use is derived from Soy.
Q. Are your products safe for people suffering from Celiac Disease?
A. Celiac disease is a digestive disease that damages the small intestine and interferes with absorption of nutrients from food. People who have celiac disease cannot tolerate gluten, a protein in wheat, rye, and barley.
While our products are wheat/gluten free because the Vitamin E we use is derived from soy, we feel it’s best for you to consult with your doctor if you have any condition that might cause an allergic reaction.
All of our products are made in a facility where there is no gluten used so there is no risk of cross-contamination.
Q. Are your nail paints safe for children and pregnant women?
A. Our nail paints are some of the best in the industry, and are rated only a 4 (low moderate hazard) out of 10 (hazardous) by the environmental working group's 'skin deep' rating system. You can find more information about this rating system here: http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/browse.php?category=nailpolish
We feel our nail paints are the best and most natural for anyone to use but advise that you should consult your doctor if you have concerns.
Q. How should I dispose of my old nail polish?
A. While our nail polishes are free of the ingredients that make most polishes “toxic” (like Phthalates, Acetone, FD&C Coloring, etc.) we still feel it’s best for you and Planet Earth if they are disposed of as a toxic material according to your state and local laws.
More information on how to safely recycle your nail polish can be found here: http://earth911.com/
Q. Do your products have expiration dates?
A. We don’t currently print expiration dates on our products but we advise that our Lip products are good for up to 2 years and our Nail paints are good for up to 1 year.
Q. Your packaging says there are Ultramarines in your ingredients, but your website ingredient list does not. Is this a mistake?
A. No, we unfortunately have a typo printed on our labels which states Ultramarine Blue as an ingredient but it IS NOT AN INGREDIENT. We apologize for any confusion this may cause.
