PeaceKeeper is a division of Wisdom Says, a for-profit corporation with a unique charitable and education mission to support women's health advocacy and human rights issues by raising funds through the sale of PEACEKEEPER™ Products. "We run this company like a lean, mean fund-raising machine and use all the "profits" (after taxes) from the sale of PEACEKEEPER™ products to support organizations, events and programs addressing important human rights issues. In addition, we support individuals directly affected by these issues through micro-credit loans." -- Jody Weiss, President and Founder Q: What do we mean by "profits"? Generally, PeaceKeeper defines distributable "profits" as revenue received from the sale of PEACEKEEPER™ products in the ordinary course of trade after deducting all operating costs and expenses, including but limited to: returns, allowances, discounts, freight and other similar items, liabilities, losses, the cost of goods, standard salaries, operating and administrative expenses, sales and marketing expenses, product research and development costs, manufacturing costs, equipment costs, financing costs, loans, interest payments, debt repayment, and the retaining of a reasonable percentage of transparent working capitol to grow the business. Q: Why do we deduct "taxes" from the profits? Uncle Sam views PeaceKeeper primarily as a seller of consumer goods and not as a charitable or educational organization. Therefore, any and all taxes must be paid from the revenue generated from the sale of PEACEKEEPER Products. Q: How else does PeaceKeeper raise funds for Charity? PeaceKeeper also gives one half of one percent of our gross revenues each year away to charity through the PeaceKeeper Fund. In addition to this, we have launched two products, V-DAY Gloss and UNIFEM Gloss for which we give 5% of wholesale or US$.80 per gloss to charity. We also give US$1.00 from the sale of each and every Eternal Equity Gloss that we sell to charity. Finally, PeaceKeeper also gives all of the proceeds from our Million Kisses Campaign directly to charity.  Q: Will there be an independent accounting of PeaceKeeper's profits? Yes, once profitable a top-five accounting firm will carefully audit the corporation's financial records and information regarding this audit will be available on our website at the end of the year. Q: Will PeaceKeeper publish to whom and how much support is given? Yes! Take a look under "Philanthropy" on our website and you will see that PeaceKeeper publishes to whom support is provided by PeaceKeeper Fund. Q: What do we mean when we say "support"? PeaceKeeper Fund intends to provide financial support to select projects, organizations and individuals that meet the stated mission of PeaceKeeper. PeaceKeeper may provide financial support to some or all programs of a particular organization. In some cases, PeaceKeeper may provide funds for projects that directly benefit a person in need. In other cases, PeaceKeeper may fund the infrastructure and management of an organization sharing PeaceKeeper's mission. In all cases, however, PeaceKeeper requires specific and detailed information concerning the use of PEACEKEEPER Fund financial support. Q: What type of events might PeaceKeeper support? PeaceKeeper intends to sponsor events that generate awareness around the issues we fund. As an example, PeaceKeeper was a product sponsor of Amnesty International's 40th Anniversary celebration in NYC and a cash and product sponsor of V-Day in NYC and San Francisco. Q: How does PeaceKeeper distribute profits? PeaceKeeper has establish PEACEKEEPER™ Fund, which is a donor advised fund under the Triskeles Foundation for the purpose of offering individual grants and micro-finance loans to qualified non-profits and, potentially, directly to women and children in need.
