Jody- CEO

Jody is a practitioner of yoga, and has dedicated her life to promoting peace in the world and in her personal life. a product of activist parents, Jody found herself searching for something more- not the peace her parents fought which pitted the good side against the bad side; in her gut she felt that as long as there are sides, there can be no peace. Jody took some of her righteous anger from a first marriage, a politically divided nation, and a violent world and decided that she wanted to take madison avenue dollars to teach about and enable real collaborative giving and to foster discussion and awareness of real urgent human rights issues affecting women and propagating violence in all parts of the world.

Gretta- Director of Operations

Gretta began working at PeaceKeeper in June of 2006. She has always been passionate about Women's rights issues, especially regarding the way women are portrayed in the media. It has also been a long-term goal of Gretta's to become involved in the creation of clean and natural cosmetics. Working at PeaceKeeper as the Director of Operations is an exciting way for Gretta to combine both of these interests. Gretta loves the natural and safe ingredients in PeaceKeeper products, and her favorite nail paint is Paint me Stunning. When Gretta is not at work, she enjoys baking cupcakes, spending time with friends, researching cosmetics-related products and issues, and practicing yoga.

Jen- IT Team Leader and Director of Fulfillment

Way back when (late summer of 2006) I moved to NYC from little ol North Carolina and was in need of a job. Having previously worked at all kinds of places from a Human resources assistant at a Hospital to a mechanic in the Army National Guard. I was overjoyed to be able to work at this awesome cosmetics company called PeaceKeeper Cause-Metics. I also am currently in school for Philosophy. In my free time I like to read (and I read A LOT, my free time usually consists of the time I am on the subway) and travel. My activism is centered around peace, women rights and veterans issues, but is focused on making society just and equitiable for EVERYONE. This is one of the reasons I love working at PeaceKeeper so much, because it’s so much more than a job but an extension of the beliefs I hold dear. My favorite PeaceKeeper color is Lip Balm (does that count?!). I guess it’s not really a color but our Eco-Sensual lip balm does wonders and it’s my favorite. My favorite PK moment, if I have to pick just one, was our bowling party.

Lala- Manager of Fulfillment

Our wonderful Manager of Fulfillment has moved to the south of France to get married...we all wish her the best of luck and hope to work with her again when PeaceKeeper is launched in France!

Lucy- Director of Human Resources

Lucy is our Director of Human Resources because she helps us humans so much. Some of Jody's endearments for her include:

Meryam- Accounts Payable/Everything Intern

Meryam was a peacekeeper before joining PeaceKeeper...it was just a matter of time that she found the company. Having witnessed domestic as a child, Meryam understands the intricate mess that a dependent and unstable life can make of a person. Majoring in Economics and Philosophy, she wants to help women become independent in every sense of the word. She now lives with her incredible mother and two younger sisters, and is interested in promoting happiness and success. She volunteers on the weekends, enjoys watching Indian movies, reading, and discussing world politics. Her favorite PeaceKeeper colors are Tender and Intuitive, and her favorite PeaceKeeper moment was when Gretta called Canada.

Alice- PeaceKeeper Blogger

Alice, our resident blogger, is currently a student at Fordham University and has difficulty writing about herself in the third person. She's majoring in Political Science and French Area Studies, and will be graduating next year. After working for a non-governmental organization that worked with refugee resettlement, she decided that she wanted to be a humanitarian. She loves being able to keep up with international and domestic humanitarian affairs and share this information in our blog. She loves playing rugby, exploring NYC, making s'mores, obscure vocabulary words and puppies (a term applicable to dogs of any age). Her favorite PeaceKeeper color is Non-Violent, as its great for pedicure season! Her favorite PK moment was definitely being hired on the spot.
