The BUZZ: Rated by the Environmental Working Group, the Breast Cancer Fund, the Campaign For Safe Cosmetics and Skin Deep as one of the safest Paint-Based Nail Polish

The Breast Cancer Fund, the Environmental Working Group and their website Skin Deep (www.cosmeticsdatabase.org) have independently rated us. Their measurement is 0.0 for water and 10 for the skankiest, nastiest polish out there. Our polishes are ranked a 3 and are the highest rated paint based non FD&C nail polish. 

The INGREDIENTS

PeaceKeeper Nail Paints are made without Toluene, Formadehyde, Acetone, Phthalates, Parabens, or FD&C/Lake Coloring in our products.

And, there is absolulely NO ANIMAL TESTING !

Since nature does not make a “real” fire-engine red, you will not find reds of those tones in our line. Fire-engine reds are made with FD&C coloring and are synthetic. PeaceKeeper uses minerals from the earth for coloring like Micas, Titanium Oxide and Ultramarines. We also use Carmine in Paint Me Stunning so if you are a vegan stay away from this colors. ALL of our other nail colors are VEGAN !

But here’s the truth…

Our polishes are still made with copolymers, which the Environmental Working Group describe as being “Moderate” in terms of their safely rankings (Safe, Moderate, Hazardous). What they say is that copolymers can surpresses the immune system and can be irritating to the skin. We would like to take them out but they make up the base of the polish. So if you are going to wear nail polish be aware of this. Right now, these polishes are as clean as we know how to get them. Please, please, please call or e-mail us at ingredients@iamapeacekeeper.com if you have any ideas on how to improve the ingredients in our nail paints. We love wise input !

We want you to know that we are in the process of formulating a polish that is neither water based (which is really hard to get off the nail) nor paint. It is bio-degradable and made from nature! So as soon as we perfect it (2008), you will be the first to know.

Our idea is first learn about the industry and then change it from the inside out.

In the mean time, here are our suggestions about wearing our polishes

We feel that the absolute best thing for you, and most natural beautiful look, is your naked and unencumbered nail, all by itself. However, for those moments where you want to play with nail color, or you’re going out and want the perfect polished nails, our polishes are the best brand available as a safe paint-based alternative.

But because it is not perfectly from nature, we don’t recommend that you wear polish all the time. In fact, let your nails breathe as often as you can.

Our Nail Polishes have indigenous botanical Argon Oil from Turkey, which is high in amino acids. And, our Top/Bottom Coat which is called Paint Me Eternal, has Vitamin A & E along with amino acids to nurture your nails.

PeaceKeeper’s Nature’s Cuticle Oil is a highly nurturing combination of Horse Chestnut Seed Oil, Plankton Extract, Sweet Almond Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Myrrh Extract, Digitata Extract (Seaweed), Ginseng Root Extract and Vitamin E. Cuticles transform before your eyes.
